When trying to capture the beauty of the mountains on a cloudy day I decided to focus on the sunray that was coming through the clouds and lighting up a small area on the mountain. This image is 100% natural with nothing manmade included. If it were not for the ray of light this image would have been bland and boring because with the clouds it would have been too dark. Lighting is important when taking landscape photographs as well as any nature photograph, because it helps bring out the colors and life of what you are looking at.
This photograph is another nature landscape photograph. I found this to be a great shot because of the water and mountain showing the foliage. The sun reflecting off the water shows how the water is a bit rough and not as smooth as it appears in the shade although if you look very closely you can see the ripples in the shade as well. The sun also gives the mountain a bit of depth because it is bright at the bottom near the water and darker toward the top. The mountain has a nice analogous color scheme to it.
Great that you were able to capture that " God finger". Truly awe inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThe "ray of light" picture is really nice. You're right, it certainly adds an aspect of interest to an ordinary landscape photo.
